Studio Bungie announced plans to raise funds to support firefighters fighting large-scale flames that swept Australia’s forests, killing 27 people and, according to environmentalists, more than a billion animals.
The developers of a multiplayer shooter will launch a limited line of T-shirts. Pre-orders will begin on January 16th.
Currently, Bungie is still working on fashion design and will be ready to present the results early next week. Anyone who purchases a T-shirt will also receive an activation code for the in-game emblem.
Half of the proceeds from the sale of T-shirts will be donated to WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organization, and half will go to the New South Wales Fire Protection Fund, which has taken on an active fight against local fires.
“Over the past two decades, the Bungie community has been an amazing force of good in our world, raising millions of dollars to help people in distress,” said the Fund’s senior manager Christina Edwards.
“In addition to supporting thousands of children through the iPad for Kids program, you helped victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey, and also donated to earthquakes in Haiti, Japan, and Nepal. Again and again, you took care of others in the hardest part for them time”.
