Bungie becomes aggressive: you will be banned in Destiny 2 if you continue to play as a team with cheaters

In competitive multiplayer Destiny 2 there is a powerful surge of cheaters, therefore Bungie begins to take tough measures.

In the latest Destiny 2 blog, Bungie Studios spent a lot of time scamming PvPgame modes and discussed plans for the near future. According to the developers, the number of cheaters in the game has increased by 50% since January, with the majority of unscrupulous players being hardcore players. The computer version of the game and the “Trial of Osiris” mode suffers by and large. Every week, authors have to ban more than two thousand people. And once this figure was three times less.

The Destiny 2 network model makes it a target for hacking, but the studio is working on the implementation of certain security systems without changing the basic technology.

In addition to technical solutions, special moderator groups within Bungie are expanding to respond more quickly to threats and to be able to process reports at a much higher speed.

There are also major policy changes that will affect everyone. Now Bungie will ban players who win thanks to the actions of cheaters, but do not cheat themselves. For example, if you joined the scammer’s game and won the match, or provided your account information so that you can upgrade your account by adding some of the rarest rewards.

The best thing you can do if you understand what your teammates are cheating on is to leave the match and report feedback scammers. But if you continue the game, then you will be banned.

Bungie is also considering another big change specifically for the “Tests of Osiris.” The studio thinks to allow players to participate only after certain conditions are met. For example, you cannot join the “Challenges” unless you have more than 100 hours in the game. All so that new accounts (the game became free) could not easily use the system for their own purposes.

Of course, Bungie understands that all this can prevent honest gamers from playing with veteran friends, so they are waiting for the fans’ opinions before moving forward.

Another way to deal with cheaters is to open access to the “Tests” through the purchase of seasonal memberships or other privileges. This can prevent cheaters from having to inject real money every time. Perhaps Bungie will do so in the future.
