The announcement occurred during the broadcast of Ubisoft Forward, after which the French publisher shared the details of the upcoming project. The Far Cry series is well known for its cunning villains. She is full of bright personalities, starting with the leader of cultists Joseph Sid and ending with the manic king Pagan Min. The sixth part will not be an exception. The role of the antagonist in it will be played by Anton Castillo, who plays Giancarlo Esposito, well known to viewers on the series “Breaking bad“.
As the El President of the island country of Yara, he keeps residents under control, often resorting to brutal methods to achieve, in his opinion, “the highest good.” He intends to restore Yare to its former glory and will not stop at nothing to achieve its goal.
50 years ago there was a revolution on the island. At that time, the country was led by Anton’s father, who was executed before his eyes. The current El Presidente believes that then was the “golden time” of Yara.
“The revolution actually took over and ended with the fact that Anton’s father was executed right before his eyes,” says Hawari. “Therefore, from the very beginning of his life, Anton grew up with the prospect, thought and worldview that the island was stolen from his family. And since Yara was in a recession for many years, Anton saw this as evidence that only the Castillo family could save the country. Therefore, when he is elected, Anton first promises to restore the paradise and return to Yara the wealth that she had 50 years ago.
At the same time, the newly-minted El-President claims that not everyone will like this paradise. Those who dare to oppose his methods of turning the country into a forced state of force will be forced to work at gunpoint to accept his vision. ”
The trailer made it clear that Anton is not a simple dictator. His relationship with his son is an important aspect of Far Cry 6. El Presidente is raising a child as his heir, who will one day succeed Anton in his post.
This character trait makes the antagonist of the future game one of the most interesting villains to date. Anton is a cunning leader and at the same time a caring father.
“He loves Diego and wants his son to grow up safe and sound. Anton truly believes that he is doing the right thing. I think that Giancarlo, who plays his part, has been involved in the game from the very beginning, ”says Hawari.
Far cry 6 will be released February 18, 2023 on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox one, Xbox Series X, Google stadia and PC in Epic Games Store and Ubisoft store.
