The coronavirus pandemic continues to influence plans for those involved in the gaming industry. The first affected game exhibitions and e-sports events scheduled for spring and summer.
But the situation may affect in the longer term.
We hope that by the end of the year the situation will improve, but it’s too early to talk about holding (or canceling) BlizzCon 2023. Our main priority is the health of players, our employees and everyone who helps with the organization of the exhibition. It is possible that several months will pass before we have clarity on how to proceed, but as soon as we have significant information, we will definitely share it with you.
Blizzard
The company said that it is working on a variety of scenarios and opportunities for the future festival. And, in order to prepare for it, not only the organizers, but also the participants could promise to announce any news about future plans immediately.
Since the founding of BlizzCon in 2005, only twice has the festival been held – in 2006 and 2012. Last event BlizzCon 2019took place on November 1-2. Announcements sounded on it Diablo iv, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and Overwatch 2.
