Black Desert

The Korean Black Desert was waited for as they did not expect any high-budget mmorpg. True, after disappointment with Archeage, many people lost enthusiasm, but the localizers from GameNet took into account the mistakes of competitors: they actively consulted the community on any vital issue, as a result of which the Russian version of the game was more complicated than the original.

Beauty will save the world

The first thing that catches your eye when you start Black Desert is, of course, absolutely killer character editor. In it you can sit for hours, sculpting, like a sculptor of clay, the woman of your dreams (or a man, who really likes it here). Such a freedom of action did not dream of any plastic surgeon: everything can be changed literally, up to the shape of the ringlets and the color of the blush. Not without frank “frankenshuhi” – if desired, you can make a real monster from the character without even looking at the tab “scars and tattoos.”

Even greater cultural shock awaits the players after the “landing on the terrain.” It’s not known what made the Pearl Abyss developers go for such a step, but Black Desert is a unique case when in the Korean game there is almost no “korean” – those same crazy clothes, crazy pets and other iridescent nonsense peculiar to Asian projects. The world of Black Desert is beautiful in its integrity: classical medieval architecture, realistic appearance of characters, normal grass and trees, after all … The feeling that you are in a fairy tale is not lost, but this is a fairy tale you can believe in. Yes, and graphics in the game – an occasion to seriously think about upgrading your computer. If this is not “necstengen,” then what is “nextgen”?

Lively nowhere

Black Desert is positioned as a full-fledged “sandbox” and, I must say, with good reason. What is the NPC’s algorithm of behavior? Forget about ever-sticking idols in one place, because non-player characters live their lives here: go to work, follow the cycles of day and night, respond to weather conditions. Moreover, depending on the behavior, each NPC in the game can have different feelings for your character. Basically, this affects the value of the rewards for the quests, but sometimes a friendly NPC can get a valuable clue.

Of course, to be called a “sandbox”, dynamic NPCs are not enough. This is facilitated by the absence of the instance zones. Even dungeons in Black Desert are open to everyone, not to mention the homes of players who, like Archeage, occupy a completely tangible territory on the map. An advanced trading system also plays its role, within which each region produces strictly defined resources. Hence the logical conclusion – the presence of caravans, which, of course, can and should be plundered.

Fights in the sandbox

The combat system did not fail. A full-fledged non-taget is no longer a rarity, but in Black Desert fights are very different from those in other mmorpg. Instead of a dull poking in the skills on the panel, there is a full-fledged system of combo attacks, just like in fighting games. No, the skills and panel are also present, but in order to conduct a powerful attack, you literally have to “play” on the keyboard. As a result, every duel in Black Desert turns into an intricate dance of acrobats, where the characters revolve around the common center of mass with great speed.

True, the class’s crown skills appear after the 30th level, so in the same PTA, PvP on early levels was more like a “war of the cans”: it lost the one who has less health potions. If the bottles were enough for both players, the duel often ended early, because tomorrow they went to school.

We will not talk about the classes themselves – those who wish can learn about them on the official website. The only thing worth noting is the gender binding. Well, there can not be a woman a normal barbarian – there are not enough forceps in the little arms to drag huge axes, as a man can not become a magician – this is not peasant business.

Not PvP single …

Interestingly, in Black Desert no one forces you to fight. Here you can quite easily ride, not killing anyone. The lessons in the game are simply a huge amount: you can become a farmer, you can trade, driving caravans between cities, you can bump into fishing or learn the basics of navigation. Finally, you can become a real businessman: you have to buy houses in each city, lodge hired workers in them, open up places for extraction of resources and start “cutting money”.

But there is still craft, as diverse as the economy. Every player in Black Desert is a kind of walking factory for the production of valuable things and resources. In this case, the character directly from behind his bosom cleverly removes stone stupas, burning bonfires and alchemical tables, not really caring about realism. Incomplete, but on the background
