Between Seriousness and Madness: Saints Row Screenwriter Shares New Details

When writing a script for a full-length film adaptation Saints row Greg Russo, noted for his work on the film “Mortal Kombat“and the upcoming reboot”Resident evil“inspired by such iconic paintings as”Warriors“(1979) and”Escape from New York“. He told about his sources of inspiration in an interview with the portal Collider, also pointing out that he is trying to find a balance in the tone of the narrative between the seriousness of the first two games and the complete madness that is happening in the third and fourth parts of the franchise.

According to the scriptwriter, he seeks to prescribe images of characters close to reality that can cause empathy. At the same time, what is happening on the screen should not lose the corporate absurdity inherent in games.

The upcoming film adaptation of the Saints Row open-world action series became known in 2019. The film director’s chair is Falix Gary Gray (“Fast and Furious 8“), and the timing of the premiere has not yet been announced.
