Assassin’s Creed lead writer Darby McDevitt leaves Ubisoft Montreal

Narrative director Ubisoft Montreal Darby McDevitt left the studio. He announced this on his Twitter account, without saying what he would do next. The writer only noted that he decided to move on.

“Today is my last day at Ubisoft Montreal. After ten years of working with talented people to create stories and characters for a great series, and interact with amazing fans, I decided to go on a new adventure.”

McDevitt worked in Ubisoft Montreal for over 10 years and was one of the main authors of the series Assassin’s creed… During this time, he managed to act as the lead writer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and the short films Assassin’s Creed: Embers, helped with the scripts and editing of Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Assassin’s Creed: Origins, after which he took the position of the narrative director of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
