Arkane’s Redfall is not a merger between Microsoft and Bethesda, an Xbox shooter has been making for a long time

Vampire Hunter Shooter Unveiled at E3 2023 Redfall from the studio Arkane austin is being developed for longer than originally thought.

The information was found on Linkedin in the resume of a former senior level designer Francisco Cruz

Although he himself left Arkane a few years ago, his last project in the studio was Redfall. According to Cruise’s profile, the prototyping of the shooter has been going on since at least August 2017, that is, they worked on the shooter in parallel with the plot addition. Prey: Mooncrash… Prior to leaving Arkane in May 2018, the developer had had a hand in level modeling and architecture, prototyping climate systems, visual scripts and early lighting during this time.

In addition, you can recall that the Redfall trademark was registered back in September 2018, only then many did not expect that it would be a new Arkane game. In other words, the project was not hastily cut after the merger of Microsoft and Bethesda, but was in development long before the sale of the publisher.

The game will be released next summer only for Xbox Series X / S and PC
