On September 20, a major iOS update # 15 was released. In the latest firmware version Apple made a number of changes, as well as introduced many new features, for example, changed the work Safari, introduced Focus mode, redesigned Notifications, updated the Maps, Weather, and Notes apps, and provided more privacy and data protection options.
Highlights of a major operating system update:
- Focusing… The new feature filters out notifications and apps so the user can focus on what’s most important.
- Notifications… The ability to add contact photos has been added, and application icons have become larger. The application has learned to collect non-urgent messages and deliver them at a convenient time, for example, in the morning or in the evening. In addition, you can now temporarily turn off the notification sound for any application or conversation for the next hour or day.
- Safari… The redesigned design allows one-handed controls to be operated and content is central. A compact tab bar appears at the bottom of the screen so that the user can swipe to switch between them.
- Cards… There are new ways of building routes and presenting information. City maps now show more detailed districts, commercial districts, hills and individual buildings, new colors and road marks, individual landmark icons and a new night mode with moonlight have been added.
- Weather… There are more options for graphical data presentation, full-screen maps and dynamic design options that change depending on weather conditions. Animated backgrounds more accurately reflect the position of the sun and precipitation, and notifications tell you when it starts and ends snow or rain.
- Notes… Tags can now be used, and mentions allow people who work on shared notes to notify each other of important changes. A new view mode keeps track of the latest changes.
- Confidentiality… Voice requests to Siri are handled by iPhone by default. The Mail Privacy Shield prevents the sender from knowing when a message has been opened and hides IP addresses so that the user’s location cannot be determined. The app’s privacy report now contains information about how the app has used the location data, photos, camera, microphone and contacts it was given over the past 7 days, and what other actions it performed.
Other innovations:
- Redesigned Settings menu.
- Search for information in photographs.
- Standard application widgets.
- Duplicate icons on the home screen.
- Effects for audio and video conversations.
- Details of the snapshot.
- Real-time voice translation.
- Separate application “Magnifier”.
- Setting up mimoji.
iOS 15 can be downloaded over the air and installed via Settings. Supported devices include iPhone 6s and later smartphones.
