It has been rumored for months that Apple is preparing a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display that will offer a range of improvements over current iPad displays, including darker blacks, richer colors, and improved brightness and contrast.
By using thousands of individual LEDs to illuminate the display, this technology should provide many of the benefits offered by OLED-matrix, but without several disadvantages of the latter.
