Apple and Samsung, move over: Xiaomi wants to take first place in the smartphone market in 2023

Company Xiaomi intends to capture a significant share of the global smartphone market next year. It is reportedly increasing orders for the production of smartphones, and is also in talks with suppliers to order components for at least 240 million phones… If it’s true for Xiaomi, 2023 should be a record year

Xiaomi intends to take second place in smartphone shipments next year, completely outstripping Apple and Huawei… Meanwhile, analysts are preparing a bleak scenario for the latter next year. According to reports, the company may emerge from the top five most successful manufacturers. At the peak of its popularity in 2019, Huawei managed to ship 240.6 million smartphones.

In the report Nikkei it is also said that Xiaomi has informed its suppliers that ideally the company wants to ship 300 million smartphones next year. However, analysts do not believe this is doable. In any case, at such a pace, Xiaomi will soon have a chance to compete with Samsung for leadership in this market.

In the report IDC Xiaomi’s shipments are said to have grown by sixteen % compared to the same period last year to 104.5 million devices.

Samsung remains the leader with 80.82 million devices sold and 22% market. In general, out of the top 5 manufacturers, only Samsung and Xiaomi were able to increase sales – by 2.2% and 34.9% respectively. In second place is Huawei with 51.83 million smartphones sold – its market share is 14.4%… Xiaomi sold 44.41 million smartphones, which is equivalent to 12.1% market.
