Adventure game The Last of Us: Part II topped the Japanese charts for the reporting week ending June 21, with a record among Western exclusives Playstation 4 from Sony sales. This was reported today by the publication. Famitsu.
For the first weekend, Japanese gamers bought 178,696 copies of The Last of Us: Part II in retail.
For comparison, this is how Japan launched other Sony-produced games on the PlayStation 4:

The original The Last of Us for the PlayStation 3 launched in 2013 with sales of 129,983 copies in Japan.
Life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo switch fell to second place in the weekly chart, but its sales fell by only 5%, and total in retail alone had already reached the mark of 5,000,000 copies.
With this edition of all games in the Japanese market, Animal Crossing: New Leaf was last sold for Nintendo 3DS, it only took her years, and New Horizons took only three months.
The remaining eight lines of the chart are also busy with games for Switch..
