Analyst: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are not scary Nintendo Switch

In 2023, the official launch of the new generation consoles will take place – Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. Meanwhile Nintendo not in a hurry to update his “hardware”. Currently not announced Switch pro or something similar, so gamers are quite naturally tormented by the question: what will happen to the platform on the market next?

NPD Group analyst Matt Piscatella tweeted about this.

“According to PlayerPulse polls, over 40% of Switch owners in the US also have PS4 and / or Xbox One,” Piscatella writes. “The hybrid console is not a replacement for the PlayStation or Xbox, but an add-on.”

Later, the analyst explained that by the word “add-on” he meant an additional purchase to other consoles or PCs. “This term has nothing to do with the preferences of the players,” said Piscatella.

“I don’t see a scenario in which next-generation consoles will have an“ absorbing ”effect on Switch sales in 2023,” he added.

Piscatella said earlier that sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will continue to decline throughout 2023, and the Nintendo Switch will be the leader in the charts, despite a slight decline from last year. “Perhaps the system will continue to lead until 2023,” the analyst wrote.
