Edition Bloomberg reports that the company Amazon canceled MMO by “The Lord of the Rings”which was announced in July 2019.
Amazon Game Studios was engaged in the development together with a Chinese holding Leyouwhich I bought last December Tencent… During the contract negotiations between Amazon and Tencent, a dispute arose, which led to the cancellation of the game.
An Amazon spokesman confirmed that following the deal between Leyou and Tencent, the company was unable to secure the conditions to continue working on the title at this time. The Amazon team that developed the MMO will be transferred to other projects.
Back in 2014, Amazon Game Studios announced that it would develop video games for PC and consoles, but, as Bloomberg notes, it has not been able to release a single successful project since then. Previously, the studio had already canceled Breakaway and Crucibleand MMO New world transferred several times.
