Sledgehammer’s new Call of Duty is powered by the latest Modern Warfare engine – media

According to the VGC portal, new coming out in autumn Call of duty from Sledgehammer Games developed on the engine IW8used in the restart of Modern Warfare and Warzone Battle Royale.

Last year Black Ops: Cold War was built on an updated version of the Black Ops 4 engine. While Modern Warfare / Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War share the same core technology and tools, the rest of the Treyarch engine is rooted in 2015 Black Ops 3.… The return to IW Engine 8 should delight players who liked the visuals of Modern Warfare 19 more than the latest Black Ops.

The decision to use the IW8 is probably partly due to the high popularity Call of Duty: Warzonewhich has attracted over 85 million players as of December. The new Call of Duty is likely to get integration with Warzone too, but it is not yet clear how much and how soon.

Due to problems with the schedule, the battle royale map will only be updated in April to the second version dedicated to the 1980s with locations from Black Ops. Since Sledgehammer is due out later this year, Warzone is likely to receive a Verdansk-themed shooter-style update no earlier than 2023, or perhaps no major map change at all until next year’s release.

According to Eurogamer sources, Sladgehammer’s Call of Duty Gets Mentioned Vanguard in the subtitle and will return to the theme of World War II
