Developers from a French studio Asobo studio (A plague tale: innocence) continue to reveal new details of the upcoming flight simulator Microsoft Flight Simulator 2023. This time, the creators released a new video on the process of creating the airports represented in the game.
First of all, it is worth noting that the start database was taken from Microsoft Flight Simulator X (previous game in the series released in 2006). About 24 thousand airports of the world were represented in it. In the new game, their number will increase to 37 thousand, that is, almost every one will be represented in the project “Harbour Air” in the world. However, according to the lead designer of the game Sven Mestas, some of them were given special attention.
“Since some airports deserve more attention, we selected the 80 most popular and busiest from the entire list of harbors. We made them more realistic by listing taxiways and signs according to official identifiers and providing them with a more accurate location.” to provide a new level of immersion, we created a top-level category.We decided on the final choice of the famous airports and properly dressed them to reach a new level of realistic “in flight simulations. We created and placed the existing unique buildings and details and even terraformed some landscapes to put them in a real environment.”
At the flight simulator Microsoft Flight Simulator 2023 there is no official release date yet. It is expected that the release of the project will take place this year, first on the PC, and then on the Xbox One (and probably the Xbox Series X). Claimed support for ray tracing technology.
At the start, virtual reality technology will not be available, but, given the requests from fans, its implementation among developers is “high priority status”.
