Alberta PM: HBO’s The Last of Us Budget $ 200 Million a Year

The upcoming The Last of Us series will be one of the largest television adaptations in history. It looks like HBO has high hopes for the show, devoting an incredible amount of money to development.

Jason Kenney, the Prime Minister of Alberta, Canada, said yesterday that the show is set to budget for $ 200 million a year, and HBO does not rule out that it could span eight seasons.

During his speech, the politician noted the growth of the economy, which began to recover from the pandemic, and mentioned the film business. There was no official confirmation of information about the impressive budget of the series and the number of planned seasons.

Filming for The Last of Us began filming in Fort McLeod, Canada this summer. Earlier, the first photos from the HBO set appeared on the network. The Last of Us series is slated to premiere in 2023.
