The latter was not only inspired by the idea of an erotic adventure, but also raised money for a full continuation of the history of a perverted world called Lust from Beyondas well as two free add-ons – Scarlet and Prologue…
Events Lust from Beyond occur in our days. The protagonist of the story, Victor Holloway, is a successful antiquarian who suffers from erotic nightmares and a lust for violence. After one of these attacks, his girlfriend Lily, in an ultimatum, demands to go for treatment to a famous psychiatrist in the city of Blikmoor. However, the provincial city, isolated during the annual festival, instead of the long-awaited healing, meets the protagonist with an oppressive atmosphere and bloody rituals. And each new step of Victor plunges him into the world of darkness and perversion. It soon turns out that in this strange settlement there are two cults of an alien deity, and it is the main character of the game who is their goal and an important key to the kingdom of eternal pleasure.
Using the external attributes of Giger’s works, as well as ideas from the dark worlds of Lovecraft, the authors easily draw the player into a whirlpool of intrigue and plot twists and turns, most of which are easily guessed, but this does not even cause disappointment. At the same time, Lust from Beyond skillfully sorts out genres, offering you uncomplicated stealth, a little action and a scattering of interesting puzzles. Fashionable, but not mandatory, gathering is ready to gift you with a reinforced dagger or other rare items in exchange for collectible figurines. In addition, you can complete side quests, which, in addition to in-game achievements, will give you an expanded understanding of the plot and some important clues about the structure of the world.
That being said, Lust from Beyond is actively playing on the adult gaming field if you’ve dropped censorship at launch. The authors offer a full range of sexual deviations, from eating feces to scourging and necrophilia. Orgies and death here go hand in hand, and the world of the game itself is saturated with mutilated and naked bodies, tortured victims of sexual orgies, unpleasant scenes and bloody rituals. In some places, the creators clearly go too far, not to mention the fact that the main character is harshly raped several times for passing, and once even with a meter-long wooden dildo. Combining not the best combat mechanics and controversial topics, the authors tell a really interesting story of an alien civilization, which culminated in endless pleasure.
Lust from Beyond is made with an amazing scale for a budget project, but it is noticeable that the authors were sorely lacking money – most of the models are repeated, interior solutions are copied several times, and all Victor’s magic power comes down to QTE scenes to restore destroyed alien bridges. The sex scenes themselves look good, but here you can complain about the modest choice of partners and the ragged animation.
