Publishing house Activision announced joining an ever-growing campaign #PlayApartTogetheraimed at informing players about preventive measures COVID-19. This is stated in the official message received by our editorial office.
As part of the campaign, participants plan to integrate special in-game events, activities and rewards designed to inform and encourage players to comply with the main rules for preventing COVID-19 infection, including physical distance, hygiene rules and so on.
“It has never been more critical to provide people with the ability to communicate safely from a distance,” said Bobby Kitty, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “Games do an excellent job of this because they bring people together, bringing pleasure, purpose and meaning. We are pleased to be part of a much-needed and important project.”
In addition to Activision, another 17 representatives of the gaming industry participate in the campaign, including teams Twitch and Youtube gaming.
As the Activision press service explained, the initiative is a kind of industry statement: “Wherever you are, no matter what you play, you can influence the situation.”
