According to media reports, the studio New line cinema launched a remake “The Wizard of Oz” 1939.
The new version is directed by Nicole Cassel, who worked on “Guardians” HBO, Vinyl and “World of the Wild West”…
The original film with Judy Garland remains one of the most famous adaptations of the story, but the authors of the new version claim that their film will show a “fresh look” on familiar plot and themes.
At the same time, individual elements will still be borrowed from the first film, although they will also, apparently, be “rethought”. It is not clear whether this version will contain new songs, or whether the tape will do without musical numbers at all.
