Painter Philip Summers planned to pamper fans Nintendo a large book containing walkthroughs of the company’s classic games and illustrations by the author.
The reason, as you might guess, lies in the policy of Nintendo, which regarded all this as earning on someone else’s intellectual property.
Some companies really oppose fan creativity – just remember the recent story with GTA III and Vice cityrecreated using reverse engineering. But if Philip only needs to return the money to the depositors, then the programmers will have to answer in court and, most likely, he will oblige them to pay an impressive amount.
