Studio Mundfish, which is the developer of the Russian shooter Atomic heart, posted a FAQ on the official Discord channel of the game with new answers to frequently asked questions, where she shared some fresh details. The main thing is below.
- The developers are still not ready to name a release date, but they responsibly declare that the project is at the stage of polishing and final assembly, so the wait is “not so long”;
- There will be two endings, but most of the game follows a linear storyline – this is not an RPG. An important moral choice will only appear closer to the end;
- System requirements will be announced as we approach the release – now there is an optimization process in order to make the game as accessible as possible in terms of hardware;
- The studio has not abandoned the version for the pastgen consoles. PlayStation 4 managed to achieve “good stable performance”;
- In Atomic Heart, real historical figures will be presented, but since the events of the plot unfold in an alternative USSR, the fate of individual characters may turn out to be different;
- The developers have not yet thought about DLC and do not share the approach, when projects are “sawed” to pieces even before release for the sake of DLC. All the focus is now on the base game;
- There should be no loading screens. According to the authors, this decision put its own complexities on the development, but it is worth it, since they consider the gameplay with downloads to be outdated.
