IN Digital foundry conducted a large-scale analysis of the recent technical beta Halo infinite – experts studied versions for Xbox Series X and S, for Xbox One X and S, as well as for PC.
Both Series have implemented two modes – with 60 and 120 FPS. Both Xbox One only have 30 FPS.
- Xbox Series X (60) – 1800-2160r with stable 60 FPS
- Xbox Series X (120) – 1080-1440p at 100-120 FPS
- Xbox Series S (60) – 1080p with occasional drops at 60 FPS
- Xbox Series S (120) – 540-720r with more stable 100-120 FPS
- Xbox one x – 1800-2160r at 30 FPS
- Xbox one s – 540-720r at 30 FPS.
Xbox one s traditionally problematic – there are not outstanding graphics with soapy textures, and unstable performance with incorrect frame feed. However, for the release at the end of the year, this version may still be improved.
Generally speaking, the developers are clearly vastly improved graphics over the past year – advanced indirect lighting on multiplayer maps (but in the campaign, given the dynamic change of day, a different method for lighting is expected), weapon models and materials look much better.
The main part of the testing was to fight with bots, but they behave very interestingly – at Digital Foundry inspired by what they saw and are interested in how artificial intelligence will work in the story campaign.
But the PC version with problems – the game does not use the video card to its fullest, while even on the RTX 3090 it is not possible to achieve stable 60 frames per second in 4K. Also, the FPS limitation does not work correctly – blocking at 60 and 120 Hz occurs 1-2 frames lower, which causes unpleasant freezes. However, these difficulties and bugs will probably be resolved by release.
