Chris Avellone's prosecutor dreamed of meeting him - Igromania

The cancellation mechanism, established in recent years, stumbled upon Chris Avellone, it seems, began to malfunction. A year later, after the famous accusations of harassment, abuse and almost pedophilia, the legendary screenwriter sued his main accusers.

He presented the whole situation from his point of view with all the available evidence. And now, from a completely different side, new facts have arrived that may slightly clarify the motives of Karissa Burrows, the prosecutor in social networks and the accused in the lawsuit.

Jeff Johnson, a designer known as Jeff Daniel, has published his own memories of meeting and collaborating with Karissa Burrows. And this evidence is all the more interesting because the events themselves took place at about the same time when the girl met Avellon and, according to her, was almost abused by him.

In the presentation of the then Karissa, everything was somewhat different. The girl volunteered to participate in the project Koobismo, a podcast series featuring game industry legends and voice actors.

In an interview that took place online on September 13, 2012, shortly after Dragon conKarissa announced that she is conducting dating with a range of individuals from the gaming industry. Joining the team, she offered to help contact David Geiger and Chris Avellone – they say, she even kissed him.

As Jeff Johnson recalls, Karissa generally spoke very warmly about Avellone, mentioning him practically as her boyfriend. And in one of the private conversations she admitted that she would like to meet with him, but she is not sure of his feelings.

Karissa Burrows at the end of October 2012 described Chris as a wonderful, funny person and a real gentleman. She was somewhat embarrassed that he was 41 years old (she was then under thirty), but she eagerly wanted to know where their conversations would lead during the endless drinking.

The fact that the girl’s feelings for Avellone were very far from negative is proved by the podcast she organized with his participation. Johnson assures that before and after the “official” recording, Karissa talked very nicely with Avellon and they kindly made fun of each other. Johnson promises to post the full recording of the conversation online.

Johnson lost contact with the Koobismo team in February 2013. Until that time, he had not heard a single bad word about Chris. And so he was shocked to see the article in Forbes – it seems that last year’s scandal managed not to catch his eye.

I would also speak out if I had evidence to the contrary. After all, if someone is to blame, we should talk about it. But the attempt to destroy someone with completely fabricated evidence – this I definitely could not ignore. When a person lies about this, the life of the real victims doesn’t get any easier.
