After two games, it’s already boring – what’s wrong with the “Feud” event in Dota 2

On the night of June 24, Valve added a new Battle Pass to Dota 2, and with it the “Feud” event. This is a PvP event in which players on a new map must destroy four enemy towers while collecting power crystals in parallel, all against the backdrop of running hordes of creeps that multiply after the towers fall and the meteor shower. It sounds curious, but, unfortunately, in reality the event turned out to be as boring as possible. About why the “Feud” in Dota 2 came out mediocre – in the material Cybersport.ru.

While Bounty Hunter was diligently collecting all the crystals that were essentially of no use to him, the three of us killed the opposing team, and Nature’s Prophet destroyed the towers

The outcome of the game is largely decided at the draft stage. However, we are not talking about some tactical tricks and complex strategies, no, it’s just that the team should have heroes capable of pushing off large packs of creeps. Already at the 14th minute, the conditional Medusa simply does not feel the most terrible creeps of the regime – the bear demons, and the rest die from her two shots. And then it all comes down to how you conduct your teamfights. If the opponent has typed incomprehensible non-meteous nonsense like Slardar, then your Templar Assassin will quickly show him that he made a fatal mistake.

Medusa only collected two crystals per game, but this did not stop her from easily killing Slardar, who was collecting stones and was under a number of bonuses

As a result, we can say that the “Feud” is reduced simply to the farming of points for the Battle Pass, which can be earned 1.5 thousand per week. In the mode, there is no internal experience that would be saved from card to card and open up bonus opportunities. No, this is just a slightly modified Dota 2 game, the only plus of which is its short duration. It is not yet clear how this regime can hook anyone. It is not variable, it has few unique features, and you can safely spit on those that are, because even without them it is not difficult to win, which, in turn, further devalues the “Feud”.

It’s a bit of a shame that Valve, which has made an attractive wrapper in the form of a beautiful trailer and a new map, did not try at all over the filling. Yes, PvP events are generally noticeably inferior to events with PvE, and this is logical, because in the latter, a large replay value is due to several modes of difficulty, general progression and variability of strategies. However, even in the PvP “battle with the Year” there was at least some variety in the form of branches for pumping talents, and the unique mob itself did not turn into a background and was an important part of the whole process. Even this is absent in “Hostility” So far, the event can safely claim the title of one of the saddest modes released by Valve. In addition to caps of points, the only thing that can force you to play “The Feud” more than a few times is the weekly mission in the Battle Pass, which offers to spend 20 maps in the mode. Not the best deal, to be honest.
