DiRT 5 was the first major race on next-gen consoles, but the Codemasters be in time for launch Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 caused the studio to drop some important options.

An update called Red bull revolution will be available for free download to all game owners. A complete list of the patch’s innovations is presented below.
Cross-platform matchmaking
- At release, crossplay in DiRT 5 was supported only on consoles of different generations (Xbox separately from PlayStation), however, players from all platforms, including Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, will now be able to compete with each other on the Microsoft Store and Steam. You can enable or disable the cross-platform multiplayer option through the game menu.
Ghost on the track
- In time races and playgrounds (Gate Crasher), players will have the opportunity to turn on the display of a “ghost” with the best lap times from the global leaderboard: fastest lap in the world, closest lap to your time, closest circle among friends or personal best time …
Additional weather conditions at playgrounds
- The developers have brought even more variety to the Playgrounds mode by adding rainy and stormy weather for each location. Players will be able to make their tracks more challenging with low-grip wet roads and stormy conditions with lightning and heavy rain. This option will be available for all playgrounds in Arizona, South Africa and Italy.
New content from Red Bull
- The game features a fresh selection of Red Bull-inspired liveries, as well as new themed paint options for the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro, MINI John Cooper Work Buggy by X-raid, Peugeot 3008 DKR Maxi and Volkswagen Race Touareg 3. In addition, the update will add to Playgrounds mode is the iconic Red Bull arch used around the world at official events.
