At the weekend to Shanghai headquarters MiHoYo an unknown person entered, who planned to kill the two founders of the studio, and then commit suicide. He was found on time and arrested.
The assassination attempt was linked to a recent update Honkai Impact 3rd – one of the company’s mobile games.
They added costumes with hares, which were criticized in their home market. Moreover, it seems that it was in China that they were not released at all – they did not pass the inspection of the authorities. However, the developers have removed content from everywhere, apologized and promised to better follow upcoming updates.
The exact reasons for the assassination attempt are unknown – whether the perpetrator was that the costumes were not added in China or that they were launched in other countries.
