Tech blogging YouTube channel NX Gamer tested on next generation consoles Xbox series x and Playstation 5 role-playing thriller Assassin’s creed valhalla from company Ubisoftand the result was very interesting.
Brief results of the test:
-
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of the game are targeting 60 frames per second, but both have small drawdowns within the margin of error.
-
The Xbox Series X version uses adaptive vertical sync, which can cause screen tearing during stressful situations.
-
The PlayStation 5 version uses full vertical sync, virtually no tearing, but occasional frame drops.
-
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions run in dynamic 4K resolution. The Xbox version can sometimes sink to 1440p, while the PS5 version is not that much – up to 1620p. However, these differences are hardly noticeable, since the game rarely reaches 2160p, and most of the time it works with a resolution in the range from 1620p to 1800p.
-
Frame rates in cutscenes on the Xbox Series X are on average 1-2% better than on the PlayStation 5, but the Sony console version loads about 12% faster.
The channel emphasizes that overall, both versions are very similar in terms of performance and images. Some differences cannot be noticed by eye – without specialized measurements.
Meanwhile, on Reddit, users point out that the PS5 picture seems to be more detailed in places.
