There is nothing sadder than pinning high hopes on an upcoming anime series and then feeling endless disappointment from watching. There can be many problems: mediocre adaptation of the original source, poor visual performance, a good idea buried under the incompetence of the authors. 5. Magic Records: Madoka Girl – Gaiden / Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka – Magica Gaiden / Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story
The original Madoka series is a true master class in concise storytelling. In a short time, an unusual world unfolded before us with bright heroes and a whole heap of interesting events. “Magic notes“trying to repeat the trick, only encompassing a lot more characters. 4. Persona 5 the Animation
RPG Persona 5 remembered by millions as an incredibly bright and stylish work, full of charming characters and attractive visual images. Unfortunately, the anime adaptation managed to become just a pale shadow of its original source. The story develops too quickly, roughly removing all the important subtleties and nuances, and the outer shell resembles a fake made without much love.
3. Woodpecker Detective’s Office / Kitsutsuki Tanteidokoro
Presenting in a positive light a hero with outstanding abilities, but indifferent to the people around him, can be very difficult. Nevertheless, many anime do this task perfectly. “Woodpecker Agency“- not this case. An interesting dynamic of relations between Takuboku Ishikawa and his partner Kyosuke Kindaichi unfolds before the audience, only now their images quickly fade into the background, giving way to a boring central storyline that takes up almost all screen time.
2. Babylon
“Babylon“is a political thriller with notes of subtle psychologism, reminiscent of”Psycho-passport“,”Monster“and”ID: INVADED“The first seven episodes do a great job of building a world full of corruption and dark secrets, but they are followed by a sequence of episodes completely focused on over-analyzing less-than-exciting philosophical concepts that only a small minority of viewers have liked.
1. Tokyo Ghoul
U “Tokyo Ghoul“there is all the necessary foundation for a dark and cool anime – creepy monsters with interesting abilities, blood and cruelty, incendiary emo tracks, but all this negates Ken Kaneki as a protagonist.
