Microsoft officially announced the cessation of production of consoles Xbox one x and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition in anticipation of the launch Xbox Series X. At the same time, they are not going to stop the release of Xbox One S in the company.
“With the Xbox Series X era approaching, we are taking the logical step of discontinuing the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition,” Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge. “The Xbox One S will continue to be released and sold worldwide.”
In recent weeks, reports of a shortage of Xbox One X and Xbox One S in stores have begun to appear. Eyewitnesses, whose need for games during the pandemic increased, claimed that the consoles were gradually disappearing from sale.
However, despite the cessation of production, the stocks of the Xbox One X and the diskless version of the Xbox One S will not end soon. It is likely that retail stores will have time to hold several promotions, during which time they will sell the remaining goods.
“Players can contact local retailers for more information on the availability of a specific version of Xbox One on sale,” they say at Microsoft.
The Xbox One X was released in November 2017 under the slogan “the most powerful console in the world”, and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition was released in April 2019. The system was the first in the Xbox One line, which refused to support physical copies.
