For a bundle with a standard console model and games God of war, The last of us remastered and Days gone in the official Sony store are now asking 30 thousand rubles instead of 26 thousand rubles, and a set Playstation 4 pro from God of war and Horizon Zero Dawn estimated at 38 thousand rubles instead of 35 thousand.
The interlocutor of GameMAG.ru indicated that some retailers were quick to immediately raise the cost of the kits in accordance with the new decree of Sony, while others have only half-adjusted it so far, because they are afraid to abruptly scare away buyers. So, in one network the bundle mentioned above with three games costs not 30 thousand rubles, but 27.5 thousand instead of the previous 26 thousand. Probably at that price they will sell it until the stocks run out.
Not all have managed to adjust the cost of standard gamepads, but widespread growth is also expected here. For example, back in early July, the DualShock 4 Red Lava controller in the official Russian store Sony was offered for 4,499 rubles, and now it costs 4,999 rubles.
But what Sony does not plan to raise the price, it’s on their games for the PlayStation 4. Now, anyway.
An expert who spoke with GameMAG.ru notes that the price increase for consoles and accessories in Russia is due to several factors, the main one of which is the shortage of Sony products in many markets around the world due to increased demand amid the coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps it is more profitable for a company to serve primarily larger territories in terms of purchasing activity.
“The situation now is that in the UK, large retailers are starting to sell restored DualShock 4 gamepads instead of new ones, because there are problems with accessibility,” said the expert.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that Sony itself switches to launch Playstation 5reorienting production facilities under the new platform. Earlier today, Nikkei and Bloomberg reported that the Japanese company had decided to change plans for the release of the PlayStation 5 and DualSense controllers in 2023, almost doubled.
As for the cost of the PlayStation 5 in Russia, as GameMAG.ru source said, now in retail circles the most frequently mentioned price tag is 50,000 rubles. But the information is preliminary and can be adjusted based on Microsoft plans.
PlayStation 5 will be released in the fall of 2023.
