American streaming platform Netflix previously said that the first season of the series The Witcher attracted the attention of 76 million families from all over the world. Even though he had some problems, including an intricate chronology of events, at the moment of the adventures Henry Cavill in the role of a monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia is considered Netflix’s largest serial debut.
In the show, the creators used several time lines at once to tell about Geralt and other main characters. However, according to the show runner of the project Lauren Hissrich, in the second season this approach will not be applied, but this decision has nothing to do with the complaints of the audience.
She stated that she did not expect that the presence of several timelines would cause such a heated debate among viewers and fans, but the creators still support this decision in terms of storytelling. According to Hissrich, the main goal of the first season was to familiarize the audience with the individuality of each character, and the only way to do this was to use separate time lines.
“But what’s really great is that they should cross now [речь о втором сезоне]. So in the second season we will observe how all our characters exist in the same time line.
However, this allows you to play with the time of the storytelling in a slightly different way. We can use flashbacks, run a little ahead, we can actually integrate time in a completely different way, which we could not do in the first season of the show.
Therefore, I think that with this approach, it will be much easier for the audience to follow the plot and understand it, especially given the influx of new viewers. But we will definitely have some fun challenges ahead, ”said Lauren Hissrich in an interview.
First season “The witcher“from Netflix debuted last December. In connection with the global coronavirus pandemic, the filming of the second season was previously frozen, so it is now impossible to name the exact dates for its premiere.
