Officially: Blizzard cancels BlizzCon 2023 and talks about future plans

Company Blizzard entertainment announced today about the decision to refuse to hold the festival Blizzcon in 2023. It is not surprising that the coronavirus pandemic is called the cause. Usually the event opened its doors in early November.

“We had a lot of discussion about how the convention might look in the light of all the health and safety concerns that we would like to comply with,” said BlizzCon executive producer Saralin Smith.

“The end result of considering our options was a very difficult decision not to host BlizzCon this year.”

Currently Blizzard entertainment discusses how to keep BlizzCon alive with a digital presentation that may take place in early 2023. The company is also exploring alternative support options for some of the eSports events that usually took place as part of the show.
