The authors of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars talked about the process of creating a duel between Ahsoko Tano and Darth Maul.
The battle unfolded in the tenth episode of the final season, which is part of the plot The Siege of Mandaloreleading the animated series to Revenge of the Sith.
According to the screenwriter Dave Filoni, this duel was an important milestone in the chronology of the universe. And unlike Mola’s battle with Obi-Wan at The rebels, which was fast enough, Filoni wanted to convey the epic of his encounter with Ahsoka.
Therefore, the authors of the animated series turned to Ray Parkwhich Mola played in The Phantom Menace and caught a glimpse of the spin-off about Hana solo. Despite the fact that the character usually voices Sam Whitver, Park was called in order to more effectively convey the movements of the hero on the screen.
Traditionally, motion-capture technology was used for capture, after which the animators finalized the result, customizing it to the style and spirit of the animated series. Asoka’s physical role was played by a stuntman Lauren Mary Kim.
