Deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation affected the work of MTS and its subsidiary MGTSwhose employees work from home. Despite the difficulties, the company continues to expand its network capacity.
In this case, Root indicates a change in customer preferences. The fact is that the current volume of traffic is more typical for holidays and weekends.
“We really see a significant increase in network load, and above all, traffic growth when using home Internet in large cities and especially in Moscow, where in fixed networks traffic increased by 30%,” the top manager said.
While MTS and MGTS cope with the load, however, network bandwidth is a limited resource even in Russia, which overtakes many countries in terms of infrastructure quality. Therefore, Root asks to limit the sending of “heavy” videos and memes.
“In the current situation, you can refrain, for example, from sending funny, but” heavy “video messages to dozens of contacts in terms of volume. When the number of such videos grows in progress, this creates an optional but significant load on the infrastructure of the operators. Memes and good mood – it’s important, but now you need to approach responsibly with the consumption of content on the networks! ” – he noted.
