Portal Gamespot posted on the channel a fresh gameplay demonstration of cyberpunk action Ghostrunner from the exhibition PAX East 2023. Especially for the show, studio developers One more level and 3D Realms prepared a fresh build of the game, different from the previously shown demo with improved visual range and enhanced combat system.
The rest of the demo has not changed and is a prologue introducing gamers to the main features of the project. In the video, a player learns to run on walls, use the sword and energy whip to overcome obstacles, as well as perform slow evasions, which are the key to survival in the harsh world of cyberpunk.
Ghostrunner events unfold in a bleak future. After a global cataclysm, the remnants of the survivors moved to the last bastion of mankind – the great tower city created by a certain Architect. However, after the mysterious death of the creator, the mysterious Master of Keys seized power in the metropolis, in which violence, poverty and chaos reigned. The value of a person now depends on the category of implants received at birth, which determine membership in a social group and all subsequent life. Those who are unlucky can no longer change anything.
All this led to a rebellion of the people, at the epicenter of which there is a protagonist – a cyber warrior, the only one able to fight both in the physical world and in cyberspace. Lost and pursued by enemies, he must climb to the top of the tower, reveal the secrets stored there and challenge the powerful tyrant.
Ghostrunner will premiere this year at Playstation 4, Xbox one and PC.
