And yet this approach allows us to reduce the cost of production of finished processors by almost half compared with the monolithic structure, which is used in Intel.
The fact is that with this approach, it is not necessary to produce all the elements of the processor precisely according to the 7-nanometer process technology. Only kernels can be made this way, and other elements can be produced using a cheap 12-nanometer process technology. As a result, the price of the whole solution falls.
According to representatives of AMD, the new approach is used not only for server, but also for desktop processors, which allows us to keep prices low against Intel.
