In an interview with the publication Stevivor head of the gaming division Microsoft Phil Spencer told that with the advent Xbox Series X the company will focus not only on improving the graphic component, but also improving game performance in order to give gamers the best gameplay experience. At the same time, third-party developers will be able to decide for themselves how to manage the console’s power.
“We never tried to limit the developers to what they are trying to do on our platform, be it 60 FPS on the Xbox 360 or 4K and 60 FPS on the Xbox One X. We want to provide them with convenient tools,” says Phil Spencer.
“On the Xbox One X, we have reached a point where games look amazing. Of course, there’s always room to move on to further refine the picture. But I want the games to feel as good as they look. There are difficulties with this generation , mainly due to the insufficient power of the central processor against the background of the GPU, and as a result, it is not possible to achieve the desired frame rate.
Looking to the future, we want to focus on the sensations of the gameplay, and not just create more pixels on the screen, “said the head of Xbox.
At the same time, the graphics in Microsoft’s flagships should also seriously improve. Moreover, the Xbox Series X will support 8K resolution.
True, at least in the first year after the release of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft will release all its games not only on the new console, but also on the entire Xbox One family.
