The tale is back – Netflix has taken over the rights to display in the service all the films of the legendary Ghibli studio

Streaming service Netflix acquired exclusive rights to broadcast all studio animated films Ghibli legendary japanese animation director Hayao Miyazaki. It is noteworthy that, according to the terms of the transaction, the American company reserves the right to display 21 paintings in all countries except the USA and Canada, where the cult tapes of Miyazaki will be available in another streaming service – HBO Max.

The contract, signed by Netflix with the support of the French company Wild Bunch International, marks the growing ambitions of the service to reach the widest audience in all corners of the world.

“Today there are many different ways to present films to a wide audience. We listened to the requests of the fans and decided to make our tapes available for viewing through streaming. We sincerely hope that now more people around the world will be able to touch the worlds of Ghibli studio,” Toshio explained Suzuki, one of the producers of Ghibli.

Pictures themselves will be added to Netflix gradually, in three sets, starting on the 1st of the next month.

Ghibli Studios and director Hayao Miyazaki are currently working on their new film, dubbed “How do you live?“(“How do you live?), however, according to the authors, the progress is rather slow, and the picture does not even have approximate release dates.
