What is better than holidays? Usually holiday is characterized by fascinating landscapes. Places where we can let the soul dangle. But just traveling like this is usually quite expensive, especially if the destination is not just around the corner. We are all looking for places where we can escape everyday life and discover something completely new. It does not matter whether it is the flower sea of a meadow, the wide horizon of the blue ocean, a gigantic mountain landscape or forests. As a gamer you can travel around countless, wonderful places and from the comfort of your own home. Therefore we show you the most beautiful and breathtaking in-game JRPGs, which impress with their aesthetics and trigger a wow effect. These places you must have seen.
RANK 10: THE FORGOTTEN FOREST – LOST IN THE SEASONS
Game: White Knight Chronicles 2 | Platforms: PS3
The Forgotten Forest from White Knight Chronicles 2 is the most beautiful and interesting place in the whole game. Right at the beginning of the game you enter the magical forest for the first time. The great feature here is that the forest shows every season in an unforgettable way and is divided into four corresponding sections. In addition, it is extremely fascinating if you just found yourself in a summery area and a section further suddenly crackles snow under your feet. Due to the constant change of scenery and the distinctive flora and fauna, it is easy to wander through the forest. A section of the forest is more interspersed with browns and leaves lie on the ground to represent the autumn. A few steps away, a lot of grass and green trees fill the surroundings, while a summer breeze accompanies you. In the next section, pink leaves meet the tree tops for spring and in the last section the snow and ice crystals glitter white and blue. Of course, you must also live with the many monsters that you encounter here, but these also vary from section to section. A place where time is really forgotten and we can lose ourselves as a player for a few moments, far, far away from reality and all the stress.
If you still have a PS3 at home and do not shy away from catching up with one or the other older pearl, White Knight Chronicles is my secret tip for you. Of course you should start with the first part, since the two parts are connected, so you should not start directly with White Knight Chronicles 2. But even outside of the forest the game still has interesting places to offer.
SQUARE 9: THE SALIKA FOREST – THE PATH BETWEEN THE TREES
Game: Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age | Platforms: PS4
The world of Ivalice from Final Fantasy 12 has some beautiful places to offer, from coasts to vast steppes to forests or even mines, the variety is here no limits. The most beautiful and magical place, however, is the Salika Forest. And last but not least, because here is a really incredible soundtrack, which took me into its spell at the time and I still remembered to this day. In the Salika Forest, you do not simply walk across the forest floor, but you walk through the dense forest through wooden walkways that stretch through the entire area. Here and there the path leads you over some of the Hängebrücke, while on the right and left gigantic tree trunks are as moss-grown as the bridges themselves. In addition, the gentle shimmer of sunlight, which is difficult to penetrate through the dense tree tops, deep Into the forest and thus a steady gentle grünschleier pulls with it and creates an incredible atmosphere.
In addition, the Salika Forest connects quite a lot of places in Ivalice, as the Phon-coast, the Nabreus-Marshes and the Mosphora-mountains are nearby. So it’s worth a visit, not least because of the recently released remaster version called Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age. In the HD version, the Salika Forest and the characters are not only shining in new splendor, but also completely new features like the Zodiac-Job-System await you. If you missed the JRPG on PS2 or love it just like me, then you can catch up with the title and go back to Ivalice.
PLACE 8: THE SKY MIRROR FOREST – MAGICAL FLOWERS
Game: Eternal Sonata Platforms: PS3
Apart from the really beautiful story and the great characters in Eternal Sonata, the JRPG offers some wonderful places. The place is the sky mirror forest, in this you get very early in the game. The forest takes its name from a flower that can only be found there. Only at night do their buds open and begin to shine, as if the flowers were to be measured with the stars. The charming anime look benefits the atmosphere and adds to its charm. You should not miss this wandering through the forest. The developers have done a great job, the colors are discreet, the small, luminous particles set distinctive accents. The forest in the really very charming anime look is definitely a visual feast.
So if you do not know Eternal Sonata, do not mind an anime-like look (also known as Cel-Shading) and you love JRPGs, then you definitely missed a brilliant game here. So if you have a PS3 at home, this is another secret tip. Due to the chic anime look, the graphics are still not very much outdated and in the emotional story and the really fun fighting system it is definitely worth the next-Gen consoles to push aside and the good, old PS3 from the Shelf to crumple.
POSITION 7: THE ERYTH SEA – ISLAND HOPPING OF THE OTHER KIND
Game: Xenoblade Chronicles | Platforms: Wii, New 3DS
In the Eryth Sea in Xenoblade Chronicles, you can experience an island hopping of the other kind. Here you do not go by boat from island to island or swim, because the islands float in the air above the glittering blue of the sea. So you have a gigantic view from up here. Especially on the first visit to the eryth sea you can admire the beauty of this place. The very dynamic camera drive and introductory cutscene in this area contributes to this. With glowing shimmering shades of blue, it was not easy to get a glimpse of the sky, and a glorious starry sky flooded with purple polar lights.
In general Xenoblade Chronicles has really very nice and varied places to offer and that even for Wii conditions. Perhaps that is why the places and especially the Eryth Sea from Xenoblade Chronicles are so fascinating, because this game has shown that even with the performance of a Wii create breathtaking landscapes. But do not worry, there’s even a remake for the New 3DS, a chance for you to catch up with the title, because here is not only the landscapes but also the emotional story, which is much more successful here than the successor Xenoblade Chronicles X.
PLACE 6: THE AZROMATICS – RELAXING ON THE PAPER BEACH
Game: Paper Mario Color Splash Platforms: Wii U
For a holiday trip, of course, sandy beach, palm trees, which are in the wind, and crystal clear sea are not missing. So off to the Azokucht. Powerful colors captivate the eye and show that even in a paper look, a great place can be created where we simply want to jump through the TV to get ourselves to this place. In addition, the Azrocco is very impressive, because colorful shells or starfish, as well as smaller grass patches or pebbles, always come out of the sand in bright colors. In addition, the place not only scores with the look, but also offers some experiences: next to the spectacular ocean festival there is for example also a secret treasure in a cave to discover. And if you do not feel like festivities, you can simply relax at the exclusive Relaxing Beach, just like our favorite plumber Mario.
One has to leave Paper Mario ColorSplash in any case: the paper look never looked better. Since we as a player even get almost like to tinker ourselves such a beach as a diorama together.Furthermore, the greatest strengths are the really wonderfully designed levels. Here you will definitely find a lot of other, wonderful Ingame places, all of which have their unique charm and were created with great attention to detail. So if you do not have just a paper allergy, it’s definitely worth visiting all the great places the game has to offer.
PLACE 5: SYLVALUM – THE SILVER PUFF
Game: Xenoblade Chronicles X | Platforms: Wii U
Xenoblade Chronicles X convinced especially with its landscapes and therefore Sylvalum must not be missing here. When I first entered the village, I was not very enthusiastic at first. The coast was bare, a stony beach of desolation, and high mountains fence the island center. The landscape seemed simply desolate and completely empty. The area did not make a good impression and disappointed, especially since Sylvalum is one of the last areas you will visit. The more you work in the island, the more the incredible wow effect will come. The surroundings change from the bare, desolate area to the absolutely magical place. Huge, neon-green, glowing plants that look like oversized pusteblowers, and then these silvery and white fields of flowers, which suddenly appear on the bare, desolate ground; Then the gold particles, which suddenly fly around the nose and the brilliant soundtrack to it. Sylvalum is simply a place that must inspire you!Although the story in Xenoblade Chronicles X definitely is not one of the great strengths of the game, not even when compared with the predecessor, the game scores with its incredible and fascinating landscapes, as well as the very special but grandiose soundtrack, the The musical atmosphere of the mystical atmosphere. Added to this are the gigantic monsters, which are as fascinating and imaginative as their surroundings.
SQUARE 4: MACALANIA – THE MAGICAL FOREST
Game: Final Fantasy 10 / 10-2 HD Remaster | Platforms: PS3, PS4
Who does not know him? The Macalania Forest from Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2 respectively. Even if the forest consists exclusively of cold colors, namely, blue and purple, it has something unique in itself that you can always return there. The Macalania forest sparkles, glimmers and sparkles as if it were made of pure crystal. It is definitely the most wonderful and beautiful place in Spira. The calming sound of the forest and the incomparable atmosphere ensure that you can simply relax.Add to this the great moments and memories that we experience players with the characters around Yuna and Tidus here. Even though some of these memories tend to be sad, they are all the more framed by the atmosphere of the forest and stimulate reflection. The impressions of the Macalania forest are easy to get involved. A more appropriate design for this area full of memories and moments, the developers could not have chosen anyway and that is why the forest fascinates us so much.
With the HD Remaster for PS4, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to visit this place and immerse yourself in one of the finest stories of the Final Fantasy universe. This JRPG should not have missed you in any case, but be warned, keep the handkerchiefs ready. Nevertheless, it is worth it, because this adventure is guaranteed unforgettable and thanks to the charming characters, you will surely be drawn into its spell.
3RD PLACE: ISLA COSARIA – ARRR, HER LANDRAT
Game: Paper Mario: The Legend of the Aeon Gate Platforms: GameCube
After a marvelous boat trip you arrive at the isolated island of Cosaria. Also here is a wonderful soundtrack, a wonderfully designed landscape. In order to visit the island, however, it takes a bit of a reto feel, because the Isla Cosaria can be seen in Paper Mario 2: The Legend of the Aenegate on the Game Cube. The island has no long sandy beaches, but a great jungle landscape with much attention to detail. There is a small sandy beach at your camp, a little further you are in the deep, dense jungle, with an idyllic water source. And even deeper in this jungle can be found a mysterious pirate cave. Paper Mario 2 simply shows that even with very simple graphics, grandiose levels can be designed, which can also compete without great particle effects. In such a great environment it is also forgotten that we were actually stranded on a lonely, still cursed pirate island, since our ship was booted by ghosts and we are now fighting for our lives.
Paper Mario: The Legend of the Aeon Gate is a really great game with lots of humor, unique characters and an incredibly great story. You will not find anything like this in the Mario universe. In addition, the Isla Cosaria is not the only grandiose place in Paper Mario 2. The beautiful and mysterious forest of the Bubus, silvery tree trunks surrounded by snowy flowering fields and tree tops. Anyone who is even more fond of action can look at the great battles in the fighting arena of Falkenheim and play a detective. Even if at Paper Mario: The legend of the easter-door of the paper look was not quite as sophisticated and consistent as now at Paper Mario ColorSplash, it still possesses its own charm.
2ND PLACE: GOLDIN KAI – RELAXING ON THE COAST
Game: Final Fantasy 15 | Platforms: PS4, Xbox One
But honestly, when we are talking about wonderful places, most certainly think of the sun, the beach, the palm trees and the sea. Even though we already had two beaches, both of which were of paper nature, I now have something for everyone else. You’ll find the most beautiful beach at all in Final Fantasy 15. Crystal clear sea and white sand beach, no matter if you arrive by car or chocobo. An adjoining bar in the middle of the sea whose modern and tropical design simply invites you to sit down, have a drink and look out into the sea. For hobby-anglers even a suitable place can be found and even with the accommodation you have the choice. If you have the necessary small money in your pocket, you can treat yourself to a luxury room right on the sea or you take the cheap option and just camp on the beach. Who would not ever want to camp directly at the beach and watch the sunrise over the sea, feel the sand under their feet, accompanied by the gentle smoking of the waves. The Goldin Kai is definitely worth the trip and should be on every trip through Eos on the route.
If you’re more of the city-dwellers, you can also find one of the most wonderful and fascinating cities in Eos, Altissia. The architecture of the city is worth seeing, and when you enter the city by boat for the first time, it will leave a lasting impression. A little Venice flair comes here at the Wasserstadt, whether you are going through the streets and encountering some artists or taking a small boat tour with the gondolas. Definitely an eye-catcher.
RANK 1: NOCTILUM – A TOUCH OF PANDORA
Game: Xenoblade Chronicles X | Platforms: Wii U
A single game actually made it twice on the list. The speech is from Xenoblade Chronicles X. The place that has made me most astonished is the Noctilum Forest. This is not only my favorite soundtrack, but also the flora is breathtaking. The tall trees, the giant leaves, the giant gorges, fascinating waterfalls and the variety of plants is simply incredible. But if so, you should visit the forest by night, for it is only then that it unfolds all its splendor. The plants glow in neon colors, from green to purple to red. The atmosphere is simply magical and incomparable. I often found myself simply stopping for minutes and looking at the surroundings. In addition, the Noctilum Forest reminds you of Pandora (you know, from the James Cameron film “Avatar – departure to Pandora”) and that makes this place all the more magnificent.
In any case, a place that has left a deep, positive impression on me and that is the reason for it.These places have a really socks, because here the developers in the theme of design have done everything right and surprised us with great places. So you see gamers to be worth, because who can claim to have traveled so many different places? Maybe I could help you and determine your next holiday destination. Write in the comments, which is your personal favorite destination, Ingame understands itself. What place has fascinated you most and made such a lasting impression on you?
