Blogger ElAnalistaDeBits published the first test Mass Effect Legendary Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X, where the collection works for backward compatibility.
Both versions run in fair 4K at 60 FPS, but there is a rudimentary performance mode with PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, which drops the resolution to 1440p. On PS5, it makes no sense to turn it on – it reaches 60 FPS in quality mode without any problems.
But on Series X, the “performance” mode includes 120 FPS – on the PS5 this feature is not available due to backward compatibility restrictions. In this mode, ME1 shows not very stable performance with drops to 80 frames. In ME2 and ME3, everything is much better.
Graphics on consoles are exactly the same, but downloads on Xbox Series X due to backward compatibility restrictions on PS5 are noticeably faster – ME1 menu starts almost 4 times faster on Xbox. However, the situation with saving is a little different: on the XSX – 1.33 seconds, and on the PS5 – 3.43 seconds.
In other parts, comparisons have not yet been made. We are waiting for more detailed tests.
