Famous American comedian, host and sportscaster Joe Rogan spoke negatively about video games, calling them “a waste of time” for most people. He announced this in the recent broadcast of his popular podcast. Games are a problem, he said, as they take up a lot of time that can be spent on something more useful.
“Video games are a real problem. They are a real problem. And you know why? Because they are so damn addictive. You play them and they are really addictive, but you just waste time and do nothing,” said Joe Rogan.
The famous presenter cited jiu-jitsu as a more useful activity, emphasizing that if a person had been fond of this type of martial art for three years, he could eventually become a professional athlete and even open his own school.
“You could do something impressive and fun, or you can just play video games. Thus, three years later, remaining the same child who is waiting for the next, some fucking game … You’re just wasting your time,” – said he.
Despite all the criticism of video games, Joe Rogan does not deny that gamers still have a small chance to build a career on their hobby.
“There are kids who make a lot of money playing video games. But you have to be adaptable, you have to be able to play several video games. Because what are the chances that one game that you are good at will last five years?”
It is worth noting that Joe Rogan himself is partial to video games, and as noted renowned esports journalist Rod Breslau has played Quake for over 20 years.
