You will not be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 on a PC if you are still using the Windows 8 operating system

Role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 will not work on computers running Windows 8because this operating system does not support DirectX 12. About this, developers from the studio CD Projekt RED reported in an interview with the German edition PC Games Hardware.

In turn on Windows 7 the expected novelty will go – Microsoft has provided this OS compatible with DirectX 12 in 2019.

“We are testing now and will continue to test Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 7 to smooth out all the problematic issues that may arise. Unfortunately, Windows 8 did not receive DX12 support,” said Jakub Knapik, art director of visual effects Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt RED also confirmed that holders of graphics cards with support DirectX 12 Ultimate will be able to get additional graphical improvements in Cyberpunk 2077. The developers will talk more about this later.

Cyberpunk 2077 Releases November 19, 2023.
