“Works Perfect”: Dark Souls III Gets FPS Boost Support on Xbox Series X | S

In February of this year, the corporation Microsoft introduced a new feature FPS Boost for consoles Xbox Series X | Swhich increases the frame rate in backward compatible games up to 60 or 120 FPS… Among the first releases with the option to activate FPS Boost were Far cry 4, Watch dogs 2 and Ufc 4, and today joined the list Dark souls iiiIt now runs at 60 FPS on both new generation systems… According to experts from Digital foundry – almost perfect.

As told Jason Ronald from Microsoft, the Xbox team has developed a special new technology to bring the feature requested by fans into Dark Souls III.

“We heard you! We are thrilled to add FPS Boost support to Dark Souls III. To achieve 60 FPS, we had to apply a completely new technology that is unique to this game. Many thanks to our partners FromSoftware and Bandai Namco,” Ronald wrote.

Digital Foundry has already studied the game with FPS Boost and found that it performs equally well at 60 FPS on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S… During testing on the junior console, the frame rate literally dropped for a second to 53 FPS during the battle with one of the monsters on the roof of Lothric.

FPS Boost provides a significant performance boost, but the resolution stays the same at 900p as the game hasn’t received any enhancements for the new hardware.
