Windows 10 (2004) showed another problem. Reportedly, new drivers for many devices came to the system, but they are not always able to be correctly installed. It is reported that the update process often ends halfway and produces errors.
According to the official forum Microsoft, where the issue is discussed, Windows Update tries to install old drivers, although new ones may already be on the system. This happens every time you check for updates and causes a crash.
At the moment, there is no final solution, as a temporary one you can try to block the update of a specific driver. This is done like this:
- Use the Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter
- Hide the driver that does not need to be updated
- Reboot the system.
After that, Windows will not install hidden drivers or updates. However, this is still only a “crutch”. It remains to be expected that Redmond will release a patch to solve the problem.
