What is Brewfest in World of Warcraft?

Brewfest is a time of celebration all around Azeroth and beyond, where Horde and Alliance come together (kind of) and drink their character’s stupid. There is plenty of free stuff to eat and drink; as well as great games to enjoy and prizes to be won. Three competing breweries in World of Warcraft, the Ogres, Barleybrew and Thunderbrew all will be vying for your love. So, you’ll get to enjoy trying to please them all. Here’s what you need to know about Brewfest in World of Warcraft:

Brewfest runs from September 20th at 10am PDT through October 6th 10am PDT this year and there is no shortage of things to do. Let’s start off with the quests that you can do to gain both XP and Brewfest goodies:

Quests During Brewfest

There are several intro quests for Brewfest, starting with “Welcome to Brewfest”. You will then get “Chug and Chuck!”, “Catch the Wild Wolpertinger” and finally “Pink Elekks on Parade”. Each of these will have you perform a task for both pets (such as your own Wolpertinger) and goodies like prize tokens. Fun note about the Elekks quest, you have to have your character pretty drunk to be able to see them.

There are also ram racing quests, which are mini games that you can complete for Brewfest. You get to ride a racing ram and collect Portable Brewfest Kegs before your time runs out. The trick is that you have to go as quick as possible, but your ram will get fatigued. You will have to carefully measure when and how fast you should go. There are three ram racing quests that you can get: two are one-time quests and one is a daily quest during Brewfest.

When it comes to daily quests, Brewfest has them as well. You’ll find a few different daily quests: “This One Time, When I Was Drunk…” and then there are the barking quests. These barking quests can be completed once a day and you can choose which brewery you want to bark for.

Loot You Can Grab

Now, let’s chat about loot, because that’s what we really want in the game right? There is a whole outfit for Brewfest that you can pick up from the vendors that are simply cosmetic items – but may help you out in the Trial of Style. Then there are smaller items like the “Brew of the Month Club”, which sends you different beers and such each month throughout the year. I actually love these monthly mails, it’s pretty fun to get new booze in your mail.

There are also six toys that you can pick up for your collection: the Brewfest Pony Keg, Brewfewst Keg Pony (two different toys, similar names), Brewfest Banner, Steamworks Sausage Grill, Pandaren Brewpack and Gravil Goldbraid’s Famous Sausage Hat.

You’ll also want to pick up the three different battle pets as well that are only available during Brewfest. These include: Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm, Wolpertinger’s Tankard and the Stout Alemental.

For those heirloom lovers, there are two heirloom upgrades that you can purchase as well: the Ancient Heirloom Scabbard and the Timeworn Heirloom Scabbard.

Brewfest Mounts

And last, but not least, you can pick up two different mounts from Coren Direbrew – with a lot of work, of course – which are the Swift Brewfest Ram and the Great Brewfest Kodo.

You do have to queue up to kill Coren Direbrew for the chance at the mounts dropping. However, there are also some other great loot that you can pick up from him too. The loot that he drops are all ilvl 810. He also will award each player with a Keg-shaped Treasure Chest when you first kill him each day (yes you can do it every day). These chests have a chance to drop the mounts as well.

The main point of Brewfest is to have fun and take a break from your daily grind for levels, rep or PvP. Enjoy it!
