Company Sony and studio Naughty dog started publishing a new series of video diaries that will gradually bring us to the release of the gloomy action The Last of Us: Part II. The first issue focuses on the plot, and it has a creative director Neil Drackmannscreenwriter Haley grossas well as senior designers Anthony Newman and Kurt Margeno talk about the narrative features of the future game.
The authors recalled that the central theme of The Last of Us: Part II will be the so-called “cycle of violence,” and the game itself will be extremely fierce.
“Violence breeds violence, which translates into even more violence … All this gathers in a real lump and hurts Ellie’s soul.”
Basically the old information is voiced in the video, but there are some interesting thoughts. So, Neil Drackmann noted that creating the sequel to The Last of Us was not an easy task – the developers were afraid to spoil everything and were looking for the “right keys.” They were faced with the task of inventing an independent story that could evoke the same strong emotions as the original, and at the same time take into account what happened in the first part. The studio argued a lot about plot twists and expects the game to divide the audience – it raises very complex questions that everyone can interpret in their own way. The developer will be interested in reading the discussions after the premiere.
“I know that many people wondered: why do the Last of Us sequel do at all? But when I didn’t even get acquainted with the draft version of the sequel, but just the general ideas that Neil shared with me, I immediately understood that we must make this game “There’s nothing to even think about, we still definitely have something to talk about,” Anthony Newman added.
The following parts of the diaries will be published sequentially: May 20, May 27th and June 3rd. Each of them will tell us more about gameplay, small details and game universe respectively.
The Last of Us: Part II promises to be the most ambitious game in the history of the studio Naughty dog, the start of her sales is scheduled for June 19 exclusively on Playstation 4.
