VirtuaVerse Review | Gamemag

Paying tribute to the classic Point’n’Click adventures, Theta divisioncreators VirtuaVerse, offer a frivolous story about underground hackers, technology and the near future.

The protagonist of the story, a loafer and an engineer (an amazing combination) Nathan, wakes up in an empty apartment: the beloved girl disappeared, leaving a strange message in the mirror, but no less important AR– The headset suffered from the force of gravity of an overweight body.

Now our character will have to find a girlfriend, participate in the digital revolution and, possibly, save the world.

Unlike classic games Lucasart, a project from Theta Division and Blood music Build their puzzles on completely logical solutions that do not require a boot to the atomic reactor.

So, in one place in the story, you may find that a not-too-accommodating salesman looks out of the corner of his eyes at a dating chat, find it on the bulletin board and make an appointment with his living wife. And then a matter of technology: blackmail and the necessary preparations for the successful completion of the task.

In another moment, just remember the address of the stubborn guard and order pizza.
In the game, Nathan’s relationship with his girlfriend draws a little bit, but it’s almost imperceptible.

The authors do not skimp on the location, throwing you from a tight shopping district into a neon club with sex robots, the secret lair of the most powerful hackers and the space station.

Easy humor and references to the classics should fill the warm nostalgia of the veterans of the genre.

Interestingly, three people worked on the game, including one of the famous 8-bit artists Valenberg and electronic musician MASTER BOOT RECORDwho did an excellent job presenting the project.

Naturally, this is not without problems. A large number of empty dialogs and not always clear instructions can make you spend a lot of time sorting through the available options.
