German retailer Mindfactory published the latest data on the returns of video cards based on chips AMD and NVIDIA… And, judging by them, the “red” cards turned out to be less reliable than the “green” ones.
The company reportedly sold a total of 44,100 graphics cards based on AMD chips and 76,280 on NVIDIA GPUs. Of these, 1452 and 1607 cards were returned under warranty. That is, for the “red” the number of returns was 3.3%, for the “green” – 2.1%. Thus, AMD has a higher number of “bad” cards.
As for specific models, the most unreliable were Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5700 XT (3.6% of the total number of sold cards of this model), and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (5.3%). And here Radeon RX 5500 XT and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super showed almost the same result – 1% of returns.
Of course, this data is collected only for Mindfactory stores and does not reflect the level of reliability in general. Full statistics are available here.
