It became known last week that Apple tried to attract Valve to litigation against Epic Games hoping to access some data from Steam. They flatly refused.
However, yesterday at a preliminary hearing, Apple’s request was unexpectedly approved: now Valve is obliged to disclose a number of information on its store. Among them is a huge amount of data on 436 games, including changes in product prices, as well as turnover, sales, revenue and revenue from Steam.
A Valve spokesman in court notes that collecting the information will take a lot of time and effort of several employees, which the company cannot afford. An Apple lawyer counters with the fact that initially they asked for data on 30 thousand games – you can collect 436 by mid-March.
